International Adoption

MISSION STATEMENT

UNIVERSAL FAMILY SERVICES is an international organization that helps families adopt orphaned children from other countries. We believe all children deserve to have loving homes and families, as well as joyful experiences, education, security and health care. We advocate high professional standards and ethical business practices, which foster international cooperation, good will and understanding.

OUR UNIQUE APPROACH

Our goal is to maintain on-going adoption programs in foreign countries. Cultivating new contacts, nurturing existing programs, and monitoring current political/social climates enables us to match families with the most viable program available.

If a placement effort fails, we will continue to work with our families to achieve a successful placement. Financial arrangements are phased to correspond with the services performed and costs incurred, thereby mitigating many of the risks involved in international adoptions.

YOUR ADOPTION

The adoption of a child or children into your family is a major life event. UNIVERSAL FAMILY SERVICES works hand in hand with adoption agencies throughout the U.S. to provide you the guidance you need to proceed with your adoption.

You must have a home study, prepared by a local, state-licensed adoption agency, approving you for a foreign adoption, as well as approval from the Homeland Security - Immigration. We feel very strongly that families and individuals who use every resource to prepare themselves and resolve issues as they arise, create the best homes.

There are many unknowns in international adoption. We want to work with agencies and families who understand the responsibility inherent in this process. We wish to feel that all of us have contributed to the development of a better world.

HOW WE HELP YOU

UNIVERSAL FAMILY SERVICES acts as a direct foreign program consultant. Our services to you as an adopting parent include the following:

  • Personal in-country visits and identification of children available for adoption;

  • Providing photographs and available medical/social information for children;

  • In-country guidance of family travel, including hotel arrangements, interpreter, translations, transportation, and other necessary services;

  • Maintaining on-going relationships with government and adoption authorities to assure correct processing procedures.

  • Providing post placement reporting to foreign adoption officials.
